EcoDiesel Engine Headlines New Additions on Ram 1500

For the truck driver who is craving even more power from their pickup don't have to wait long. The Ram 1500 will soon have the most powerful engine on the market, with the re-introduction of its new EcoDiesel engine. Ram announced it will be making the EcoDiesel engine available for its 2019 Ram 1500. The EcoDiesel is also the headliner of the latest additions to the 2020 Ram 1500.

New EcoDiesel is the showstopper for the 2020 Ram 1500

Ram originally skipped out on the diesel engine, despite plans to include it on last year's model. They make up for it, and then some, with the 2019 re-design. Ram announced the 2019 Ram 1500 will have a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 paired with a 10-speed transmission. It is expected to crank out 260 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. That is 20 horsepower and 60 pound-feet of torque more than its previous diesel engines.

Ram will be making the same engine available for the brand new 2020 Ram 1500. The EcoDiesel engine will make it the most powerful Ram 1500 available, with the capacity to tow 12,560 pounds, making it the strongest full-size diesel truck on the market. It is also expected to improve the fuel economy over the Ram's previous diesel engines. The redesigned engine also promises a quieter ride than you would expect from a diesel engine by reducing the vibration coming from the engine.

Enhanced Features to Protect you on the Road

The available air-suspension will make for a smooth ride and improve your off-road handling. Automatic lead leveling will keep your truck stable on the road. A new 12-inch touchscreen will be available on the Uconnect 4C infotainment system on 2020 Ram 1500. It includes a split-screen function, 360-degree camera views so the driver can see anything hiding around your vehicle.

Though nothing has been officially announced yet, Ram is expected to make several prime technology and safety features, like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring and ready alert braking, standard for 2020.

The 2020 Ram 1500 will be released in the 4th quarter of the year, with more features to be announced closer to that date.
